Summary Hierarchy of the macroalgae traits.
Description The macroalgae traits started in 2014 as one of the pilot projects for collecting traits under EMODnet Biology. This pilot project was done by Sofie Vranken under the supervision of Olivier Declerck. At that time, there was only a spreadsheet with macroalgae traits on the genus level. In 2017, Sofie and Olivier reached out to Marine Robuchon and Line Le Gall of MNHN in Paris, since they had this traits information available at the species level. Both spreadsheets were compared and inconsistencies were fixed. Spreadsheets were ready for upload to Aphia in spring 2020.
